Summary:
Following the remarkable success of the #OperationLindaBoni along the Kenyan Coast and the integration of the al Shabaab defectors during the amnesty given by the Kenyan government the Cabinet secretary for Interior has embarked on an official tour of the coast.
Interior CS Joseph Nkaisserry has been accompanied by the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet in the reconnaissance tour of the coast to assess the security challenges, both by the public and security personnel.
The tour falls in line with Kenyan government’s mission to stamp out radicalization within the area, equip the security personnel in the region to preempt and prevent attacks from within and without as well as bolster the tourism hotbed region’s security.
The government of Kenya is not only vested in preempting threats but also decapitating the terrorist network by rooting out radicalization and other root causes of terrorisms.
Kenya has identified that for productive and effective counterterrorism measures put up to yield the desired result public participation has to be incorporated to ensure long term solutions especially concerning radicalization and home-made terrorism.
