Cache of Arms & Explosives Captured From Terror Cell in Garissa, Kenya

26th August 2015, A Joint task force of Kenya security forces recovered deadly ammo, explosives, assault riffles, and devices used to assemble and detonate improvised explosive devices from a would be suicide bomber belonging to the the Salafist jihadists based in Somalia, the Harakat al-Shabaab al-Mujahideen terrorist movement.

The terror cell was intercepted and captured alive by an elite team of Kenya security forces and is now in police custody. The cell is courier cum operative tasked to deliver, provide expertise, and join the terrorists in the actual crime against soft targets.

This is a big blow to the Al-Qaeda branch in Somalia, Harakat al-Shabaab al-Mujahideen terror movement. The terror group has attempted severally in past one month to both sneak weaponry and conduct attacks in Kenya.

Kenya’s security and intelligence services have robustly countered the vioelnt extremists by intercepting, destroying, and capturing the terror cells.

Dozens of terrorists have been arrested and are in police custody. Garissa is the capital of the frontier county of Garissa in the North Eastern Kenya.
