Friday 1st July 2016, Eight civilians and a police reservist have been killed after a bus they were traveling in was sprayed with bullets by terrorists in Kutulo area along the Elwak-Mandera route.
Terrorists attacked 2 buses; one belonging to E-Coach bus services and the other to Tawakal bus services.
The driver of the E-Coach bus was among those killed in the attack.
No deaths or injuries reported on Tawakal bus, though riddled with bullets, it managed to escape from the attack area.
The Tawakal bus made it to its destination in Wargaduud.
20 other passengers reportedly injured with some sustaining critical injuries.
Mandera County Commissioner Fredrick Shisia said police have launched a security operation in the area.
