Boko Haram Logistics Base Near Sambisa Forest Destroyed By Armed Nigerian Air Force UAV

NAF-UAVFebruary 4th 2016: Nigerian Air Force unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UAV) destroyed a logistics base used by the Boko Haram in Garin Moloma a short distance from the Sambisa forest.

The UAV was conducting an intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance mission in the area which is a Boko Haram insurgents’ stronghold for status update that would facilitate an offensive attack against the militants.

According to the live feed recorded by the UAV multiple explosions, huge fire balls and a thick cloud indicate that the base was ammunition/ fuel storage or a weapon/technical workshop for the Boko Haram.

Sambisa Forest has been the strongest operational base of the jihadists and being a thick forest they enjoy terrain knowledge giving them an advantage over the government troops. Nigeria however received a $250 million donation pledge to help fight Boko Haram.
