The SRCC and Head of the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS), Ambassador Mohammed El-Amine Souef lauded Somali security Forces for intensive counterterrorism operations that have seen liberation of the restive Adan Yabaal, a strategic town in the Middle Shabelle region of Somalia that has been a training ground for Al-Shabaab terrorists for many years.
The SRCC and Head of ATMIS in Somalia, Ambassador Souef applauded the gallant Somali Security Forces for demonstrating through the ongoing military offensives against the Al-Qaeda affiliated Al-Shabaab that they are able to deliver destructive and decisive blows to the Islamists Al-Shabaab in their hideouts.
ATMIS will continue to work with Somali Government troops by providing the necessary support in an effort to fight terrorism and bring security and stability to Somalia and threatened East Africa region. For example, ATMIS helicopters from Sector One have been providing the much-needed aerial support to the ongoing military operations to the Somali Security Forces on the ground.


Also, ATMIS Kenya Defense Forces soldiers en route to an operation in Kismayo, Somalia. Operations by #ATMISFrontLine troops are important to providing security in population centres. Similarly, ATMIS Ethiopian troops have been conducting military operation on the outskirts of Kismayo Somalia.
The officials leading the government forces have promised that their military offensives will continue until Al-Shabaab is removed from the Middle Shabelle region and civilian traffic in the Hiran and Middle Shabelle regions is restored.
