At least 63 Boko Haram terrorists have been killed after an attempted overrun of a military base in the Lake Chad region. The overnight attack as confirmed by army spokesman Colonel Azem Bermandoa occurred at a military base in Buohama.
While the number of Boko Haram killed is preliminary, it’s expected to go up as the Chadian troops are in pursuit of fleeing militants. Last month, 23 soldiers were killed in the Lake Chad region in the deadliest attack yet on the Chadian army by Boko Haram, which launched an insurgency in Nigeria a decade ago.
Elsewhere, 27 Boko Haram Terrorists were on Saturday killed by troops of Sector 1 Operation Dole and Cameroonian Defense Forces in Borno State during clearance operations in villages in the area. Gun trucks, several motorcycles, assorted vehicles, guns, rocket-propelled grenades, high-power rifles and over 1,000 assorted rounds of different caliber ammunition.
