22nd September 2015: A joint effort between Somali National Army (SNA) and the AMISOM forces battled al Shabaab militants out of several villages in Hiran region of Central Somalia killing at least 20 militants.
The jihadist launched guerilla style assault on bases manned by the coalition forces in two villages a few kilometers from the regional capital Baladweyne city. The coalition forces battled them out inflicting severe casualties and killing 20 militants.
Top official of the coalition forces confirmed the victory citing zero injuries and or deaths within the force crediting it to ample preparedness and poor planning on the al Shabaab side.
Despite the al Shabaab adopting crude war tactics like hit and run as well as old school guerilla warfare style, AMISOM have established they grip and asserted their capability to both preempt and neutralize attacks from the militants with zero to minimum casualties on their troops.
