At least 14 civilians were killed in an attack conducted by the Islamic State Central Africa Province (ISCAP) in the village of Manzombe, in the chiefdom of Walese Vonkutu in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The terrorists conducted the attacks at night and followed their usual MO that included setting buildings ablaze, looting, and massacring the residents.

The chiefdom of Walese Vonkutu is the most affected by ISCAP attacks despite the heavy military presence in the region. Most villages in the Irumu territory in Ituri province have experiences mass exodus which has made the attacks and movements of ISCAP more frequent.
Despite the attacks by ISCAP, intelligence indicates that the military siege that has been in effect in Ituri and North Kivu province has been exerting pressure on the militants and as such, the attack in Manzombe is an active supplies, medicine and food run to facilitate the group as it lays low.
