August 24, the armed forces of Ukraine paraded its newest artillery, reconnaissance and missile systems on the streets of Kyiv.
In a huge military parade to mark the 27th anniversary of independence, Ukrainian troops paraded about 250 units of military equipment with more than 4,500 military personnel taking part in the event.
Paraded for the first time included, the new 2S22 Bogdana 155mm advanced wheeled self-propelled howitzer tanker.
The new self-propelled artillery system has capability to destroy command posts, armored and mechanized units, artillery batteries, communication posts and field defenses.
The Bogdana self-propelled artillery system is mounted on a KrAZ 6×6 high-mobility truck chassis, manufactured by Ukrainian – AutoKrAZ” industrial company.
Also displayed was the new Obolon-A artillery fire control vehicle. The vehicle is intended for investigation and fire control of platoons, batteries, battalions both day and night, made for all weather.
Other military hardware paraded included, Verba rocket launcher system, Polozhennya-2 automatic sound ranging system, Vilha high-precision rockets system, 1L220UK mobile weapon locating system and Sapsan / Grim-2 tactical missile system among other military equipment.
