According to a report on Somali National News Agency (SONNA), Somali National Army (SNA) backed by AMISOM on Wednesday conducted an operation against Al-Shabaab militants in Buurkoy location in Lower Juba region of southern Somalia killing several militants.
According to AMISOM troop’s spokesperson, Joe Kibet, SNA in joint operation with AMISOM raided Al-Shabaab in a small makeshift camp in killed several militants.
Another special operation also saw three militants killed in the same location at an illegal checkpoint used by militant to extort locals and transporters.
An air raid was also conducted in the same area hours before in warplanes believed to be from U.S. air force.
