Latest military reports from Somalia indicate that Kenyan military —KDF battling Al-Shabaab under the banner of AMISOM fired heavy artillery striking an Al-Shabaab base in a small town in Gedo, southwestern Somalia.
KDF has increased campaigns in Gedo region, a region which is used by Al-Shabaab as launching pad for most their attacks targeting Kenya citing its proximity to the Kenya-Somalia border.
Local residents of Dhamase area which is about 40 kilometers north of El Wak confirmed of the heavy shelling from the Kenyan troops.
Several militants reported killed in the latest offensives by KDF.
