Kenya police have gunned down Rashid Tumbo Kufungwa, a 42 year old man who returned from Somalia after undergoing militant training in terrorists areas.
Rashid Tumbo Kufungwa refused to surrender at the Tiwi area terrorists safe house and instead opened fire on police officers prompting orders to shoot him dead.
The man is believed to be the leader of a team that has been planning and orchestrating terrorist attacks in the Diani and Likoni areas of the coast.
They have been launching terror attacks and retreating quickly back to Kwale where Rashid Tumbo Kufungwa had a safe-house.
Police recovered a Berreta pistol loaded with three bullet which the 42 year old Rashid Tumbo Kufungwa was using.
The militant was also the owner of a G3 gun recovered in Kibundani area. The gun was stolen from Emali AP camp, a town along Nairobi – Mombasa highway
