Before this the October 14, 2017 truck bombing, the worst in Mogadishu’s history which Al-Shabaab didn’t claim but was likely behind the heinous attack.
On Friday attack death toll rise to 45, people mainly youngsters the popular Doorbin Hotel were victims. The ambulance services had put the death toll at 18 on Friday, and updated it to over 40 by Saturday afternoon.
All attackers were killed by security forces.
One SNA soldier also died during that attack after he intercepted the SVBIED.
The group wants to overthrow the Somali government and impose its own harsh interpretation of Islamic law. The militant group has killed hundreds of civilians across East Africa and thousands of Somalis in a decade-long insurgency.
