Al Shabaab through an affiliated social media account has announced the group had conducted several attacks in Mogadishu and its environs.
According to the issued statement, the al Shabaab detonated an IED targeting the Emirati-trained soldiers in Taredishe town located two miles west of Mogadishu. Moreover, they claimed to have killed two soldiers in the Yaqshid district of Mogadishu.
The statement comes after over 100 al Shabaab militants were killed including the son of the overall leader of the al Shabaab in Somalia. Somali troops backed by allied forces have intensified their crackdown on the Shebab by conducting security sweep targeting both the militants and their enablers in different locations of Mogadishu.
