
US Department of defense announced that coalition led airstrikes has killed a senior ISIL leader in Syria.
Tariq bin Tahar al-Awni al-Harzi, was a key ISIL leader who was instrumental in raising funds; he also recruited fighters for the terror group. He supplied the Takfiri terrorists with weapons especially in the northern city of Shaddadi.
He had a brother Ali, who also served as an ISIL recruiter and key person in the 2012 Benghazi attack on US consulate. Ali was also killed in an airstrike in Iraq day earlier.
Tariq bin Tahar al-Awni al-Harzi core duty was to facilitate the moving of the recruited individuals and weapons into Syria and Iraq though he also raised money for recruitment of fighters and to facilitate their travels.
Al-Harzi, in addition helped with suicide attacks announced the Pentagon. His death was felt and was a significant blow to the ISIL terrorist group.
Al-Harzi’s death will greatly impact on ISIL’s ability to integrate foreigner terrorist jihadists to crossing over into Syria and Iraqias well as moving recruits and weaponry across the border between Syria and Iraq.
ISIL currently controls huge parts of Syria and neighboring Iraq. The terrorist group has carried out atrocities such as public decapitations and crucifixions on all ethnic and religious groups including Kurds, Christians, Shias, Sunnis, Izadi Kurds among others.
