Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta has been voted the African President of the year for 2014-2015 citing his outstanding leadership across the continent.
President Uhuru Kenya clinched for the prestigious Africa Education and Leadership Award for his dynamic ability to build consensus locally and internationally. His efforts to change policies for better, supervision and government projects, addressing challenges pressing on Kenya’s issues were pointed as some of key strengths in his leadership style.
President Kenyatta was recognized by thousands of University students coming from hundreds of institutions of higher learning as initiating progressive economic programmes aimed at uplifting the lives of Kenya’s citizenry.
The students, who are all members of All Africa Students Union (AASU), presented President Uhuru Kenya with the award. AASU is based in Accra, Ghana.
The student leaders from 12 local universities presented the award to the President at State House, Nairobi in the company of Education Cabinet Secretary Jacob Kaimenyi, Education Permanent Secretary Belio Kipsang together with a team from Kenya Private Sector Alliance.
