Afghan security forces on June 3 conducted a series of airstrikes in north-western Badghis province of Afghanistan killing 40 Taliban militants.
According to the military officials, Afghan security forces supported by allied forces have conducted the airstrikes in the past 3 days.
The officials further added that the joint forces targeted the militants Bala Murghab district of the province.
The onslaught comes as the security situation in some districts of Badghis province has deteriorated in the recent months.
Taliban militants maintain active cells in remote and restive areas of the province.
