The Federal Government of Somalia has placed a bounty on five key al Shabaab members in Mogadishu. The FGS offered rewards that would motivate the arrest of five suspects tried in absentia for their involvement in killings as well as high-level assassinations.
The public was urged to tip off the whereabouts information of the suspects to the police to bring them before the justice. Vigilance was urged seeing as the terrorists are armed and dangerous.
The five are Abdullahi Kusane, Abdirahman Mustafe Sheikh, Ramadhan Abdirahin Mursal, Sharmarke Omar Ahmed and Abdinadir Ahmed Abdikadir. Four of them sentenced to death in absentia while the fifth one was slapped with life imprisonment.
While the monetary reward for the five was not immediately released, the five alongside a college teacher in Mogadishu were found guilty of carrying al-Shabaab’s operations that included killing civilians and assassinations of government officials in the capital.
