Counterterrorism police in Karachi Pakistan have killed three terrorists including the emir of the Karachi offshoot of al Qaeda. The three were killed after officers raided a hideout for the group at Khuda Baksh Goth near the Northern Bypass in Karachi.
The dead terrorists were identified as al Qaeda chief for the Karachi Unit, Talat Mehmood alias Yousuf and his two accomplices – Usman Noor Alam and Sheikh Shahid. The raid was conducted following reports of an impending attack in the areas by al Qaeda.
Police seized one suicide jacket, 10 kilograms of ball bearings, two sub-machine guns, 38 rounds, one pistol, two hand grenades, two remote control circuits, one remote control, two detonators, as well as four yards of detonating wires and safety fuse wire from the possession of the terrorists.
