Somali Special Forces in the past 24 hours have killed thirty two (32) Al-Shabaab militants in a fierce fire fight in central region of Somalia.
According to Ahmed Mohamed Teredisho, Somali Army Commander in Hiiraan region, the fighting took place in Hiiraan region after armed Al-Shabaab militants tried to impose taxes on villagers around Mahas town.
The Special Forces with reinforcement from angry locals killed 32 Al-Shabaab militants linked to the Al-Qaeda at an area about 28 km to Mahas town in Hiiraan.
The locals backed the government soldiers, engaging the Islamists militants in more than six hours of battle.
Humiliated Al-Shabaab militants have not commented on the military victory claimed by the Somali government forces in the region.
