Strategic Intelligence confirms that Kenyan warships have shelled the last stronghold of the Al-Shabaab militia in Somalia, the seaport of Kismayu on Saturday at 6pm local time.
Exactly midnight, intelligence reports confirm that KDF forces are outside the gates of Kismayu and they have positioned armor and artillery units at ready.

Heavy causalities are reported from Kismayu with intelligence sources confirming the shelling of strategic positions held by the militia.
KDF alongside TFG and Ras-Kamboni are working under AMISOM command in Southern Somalia. This is their first attempt to launch preemptive attacks on the port city.
Intelligence on Al-Shabaab Positions
The militia has moved much of its assets to the port city and have created massive defensive positions readying
themselves to defend the city.
Though top leaders have advised a tactical withdrawal, the Meheran clan insists that the port should be defended and it has rallied the clans youths and men to support the Al-Shabaab.
A number of recruits from the clan graduated and are now being deployed to back up the losing militia in the fronts, particularly on the entrance to the city from Afmadow.
The militants have also acquired new weapons besides studying the KDF battles strategy to up their capacity in attacking the defense forces of Kenya involved in the operations to rout them.
Aerial bombing and strategic attacks on their positions besides blocking their movement will significantly reduce their capacity.
