His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan is expected to arrive today (Monday 26th September 2016) for a state visit.
According to State House Spokesman, Manoah Esipisu, Kenya and Jordan have been longstanding partners.
During his state visit, the Jordanian King and President Uhuru Kenyatta will discuss issues to do with security and counter-terrorism.
President Kenyatta who invited the Jordan leader will witness a joint military exercises to be hosted by the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF).
The two are expected to have a lengthy discussion on issues security and ways to confront terrorism and violent extremism threatening global peace and security.
In a telephone call, His Majesty, Abdullah voiced Jordan’s support for steps taken by Kenya to counter the problems.
On October 11, Kenya will host South African President, Jacob Zuma.
