On Monday 22nd August 2016, AMISOM troops in Somalia killed 8 Al-Shabaab militants in an ambush near Baidoa town.
According to AMISOM spokesman, Col Joe Kibet, Al-Shabaab militants had laid an ambush to the AMISOM convoy at Goof-Gaduud locality, about 30 kilometers north of Baidoa town.
AMISOM troops responded to the surprise ambush at Goof-Gaduud killing 8 militants and injuring four others in the crossfire.
Kibet also noted that three AMISOM soldiers also suffered minor injuries in the Al-Shabaab.
