Iranian security forces on Monday 15th August 2016 killed an instrumental members of Daesh ISIS) Takfiri terrorist group and busted the militant’s terror cell in the country’s west.
According to an Iranian security official, the busted terror cell had infiltrated Kermanshah Province, which borders Iraq.
The terror cell had been tasked with staging suicide attacks against different targets across Iran including its key cities noted Kermanshah’s Governor-General Asadollah Razani.
On Monday night, Iran forces and intelligence officers in operation engaged in a combat in the provincial capital of Kermanshah with the first batch of group’s fighters killing the key Daesh agent and arresting some others.
On Tuesday 16th August 2016, morning, the forces swooped on a safe house used by the cell in Kermanshah, killing three more terrorists and seizing suicide vests and belts, grenades, and various automatic weapons.
In the past few months Iranian forces have been engaged in clashes with terrorist groups, foiling plots on the on the border and across the country. The forces have also made several arrests of the terror operatives and confiscating large amounts of explosives and bomb-making materials.
