Iraqi army has carried out an air operation early Friday killing 38 Daesh militants, the country’s Joint Operations Command has said in a statement.
The army also thwarted planned bomb attacks in Baghdad, southern provinces.
Among those killed in the army airstrikes include high value figures with Daesh as well as suicide bombers.
An Iraqi parliamentary committee in security said that the militant group which in the recent weeks has suffered huge blows tries every method to remain relevant calling on counter-terrorism measures to be increased in increased in Baghdad and southern Iraq.
The committee also urged the residents to collaborate with security forces by providing information that may help neutralized terror.
Iraqi’s military has been battling Daesh militants in northern and western Iraqi since 2014 with support from U.S.-led coalition airstrikes.
