The semi-autonomous state of Puntland has begun the trial of more than 100 Al-Shabaab militants captured three months ago during a foiled attack by the group at a local base.
The military court has so far sentences forty-three militants to death after admitting to being members of the Al Qaeda affiliated group.
In the foiled attack in March, Puntland forces battled hundreds of Al-Shabaab fighters killing 173 militants and capturing 100 others in a week long offensive.
The captured militants were mostly young children as young as nine years.
Those interviewed after being captured narrated how they were kidnapped by Al-Shabaab and forcibly made to join the militant group.
The trial court is in Garowe, the administrative capital of the Puntland state.
43 militants have already been sentenced to death; the court also said 54 others were minors.

They should handover to KDF for further details.
