The President of the Republic of Sudan Al-Bashir and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir awarded the Sudanese forces and Special Forces battalion the Order of Accomplishment in overall appreciation of the army internal and external participation.
The award was announced on March 22 during the president Al-Bashir address to a celebration held at Al-Markhiyat Military Camp.
Sudanese forces and Special Forces have recently been involved in North Thunder military exercises in Saudi Arabia announcing their upgrade to Brigade.
President Al-Bashir pledged to provide modern equipment and requirement to boost the Armed Forces capabilities. The President also said he will improve the salaries of the Armed Forces.
APPRECIATION
President Al-Bashir announced the upgrading of the Special Forces from a battalion to a brigade citing the forces extraordinary commitments the Armed Forces have played in defending the homeland’s security since 1955 up to now.
In his address, the President lauded Armed Forces outstanding role in containing and subsequently eradicating the rebellion in Darfur.
