The remote villages’ clans have over time gone into war over grazing and land disputes dated almost a decade ago. The recent clashes have left dozens dead and score injured before the intervention of respect clan leaders and Puntland government officials.
The elders reported that both warring clans are expected to withdraw their warriors from the battle frontlines and follow the ceasefire instructions in the meantime as the government looks to implementing a permanent long lasting co-existence law to govern the region.
