Kenya Defense Forces on Monday 15th June 2015 conducted an operation deep inside Dodori national reserve in Lamu County in Kenya and killed 7 militants from the Somali based Islamist group Harakat al-Shabaab al-Mujahideen.
Military Intelligence reports that a group of 30 members of the terror group were hiding in the forest and an army operation was mounted to decommission them.
Many of the Harakat al-Shabaab al-Mujahideen militants escaped with serious injuries and are likely to be captured dead or alive.
Intelligence intercepts shows the Kenya Army has scaled up operations to counter the threat of extremists in the country’s borderline areas.
