A Syrian armed opposition group said Wednesday that it had launched fresh operations against Daesh terrorists in rural parts of Idlib province. The group known as Hayat Tahrir al-Sham is an armed anti-regime group that has been conducting operation against ISIS in Syria.
The group, through its social media accounts, confirmed that during operations conducted in recent years they had neutralized 80 Daesh terrorists and destroyed 15 hideouts used by the militants.
According to Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, the operations -which remain ongoing- came in response to recent attacks by Daesh on civilians and opposition fighters. Syria and her neighbor Iraq have been fighting the Islamic State for the past several years and with the help from international allies, they have managed to recapture swathes of territory previously under the control of the jihadists.
