Iraqi military operations command on Friday said it had killed close to 800 Daesh terrorist since the start of offensive to retake once militant-held Mosul on October 17.
Iraqi army has been backed by U.S.-led coalition strikes recently launched the much anticipated offensive to liberate Mosul, the last Daesh terrorists’ stronghold in northern Iraq.
In a statement, Iraq’s military operations command announces that at least 772 Daesh terrorists have been neutralized and 87 villages and areas recaptured from the terrorists.
The statement further announced that at least 23 terrorists were captured alive.
Almost 130 explosive laden ‘technicals’ vehicles, 27 mortar shells and 397 explosive devices have so far been seized.
Daesh took Mosul — Iraq’s second-largest city — in mid-2014 before overrunning additional territory in the country’s northern and western regions.
