Evidence of AK-47 gun-fire after an NATO UH-60 Blackhawk Helicopter crash has been confirmed in Afghanistan.
Six American troops from the NATO mission are confirmed dead and one injured, intelligence reports show.
Taliban militants have claimed responsibility. There is no evidence that the UH-60 Blackhawk Helicopter was shot down by the Taliban militants.
The Taliban continue to claim they conducted a strike that brought down the UH-60 Blackhawk Helicopter.
Gun fire after the crash has been confirmed at Zabul province. It has been verified as enemy fire, confirming int reports that Taliban operatives were involved in or after the crash.
“Six International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) service members died following an aircraft crash in southern Afghanistan today,” ISAF has verified.
“The cause of the crash is under investigation, however initial reporting indicates there was no enemy activity in the area at the time of the crash.”
