Somali police in collaboration with the National Intelligence and Security Agency – NISA have arrested more than 50 suspected members of the terror group Harakat Al Shabaab Al Mujahideen in Afgooye region Somalia.
Senior police officer in the area Abdikadir Mumin said that the suspects will be subjected to thorough investigation and scrutiny and those found guilty will be arraigned in court with immediate effect.
The fifty were arraigned in ongoing mop up operations targeting to wipe out militants from targeted areas in Somalia.
There are already ongoing door to door operations aimed to net any remaining militants from the region as operation Juba corridor hits full swing.
On 14th September 2015, SNA forces and AMISOM troops launched backup operations that targeted households to beef up the ongoing operation Juba corridor.
The operations will ensure that areas that are still under militant control will fall squarely under control of the Somali National Army and the AMISOM troops.
