Somali National Army has captured two senior al Shabaab militants in Abutey village Lower Shabelle region. The two were commanders of an al Shabaab terror cell operating in the region and were hiding in the remote village from a rigorous Anti-al Shabaab campaign in the region.
Further intelligence maintains that the arrested terrorists are both masterminds of deadly attacks in the region. The two are being held at a military facility for questioning to be charged later. According to military sources, the two will offer very valuable intel pertaining al Shabaab operations in Lower Shabelle and neighboring NEP in Kenya.
