Two Al-Shabaab terrorists on Sunday and Tuesday surrendered themselves to Jubbaland forces in Kismayo.
One identified as Nageye Abdi Shilow confessed that he was an Al-Shabaab operative and former leader (district commissioner) of Elbuur.
According to Colonel Ahmed Muse, Jubbaland head of criminal investigation office, Shilow handed himself over to the forces on Sunday.
Another Al-Shabaab operative named Mohamed Hassan Abdi (Qadaab) on Tuesday gave himself up to Jubbaland security forces.
Abdi regretted his actions whilst at the terror camp saying his decision to denounce the Al-Qaeda linked group was as a result of Al-Shabaab attacking even innocent people, criminal acts he couldn’t tolerate.
“They ordinarily carry out killings against poor pastoralists who refuse to give out some of their livestock to them,” Abdi was quoted saying.
Colonel Ahmed Muse (Jubbaland head of criminal investigation) called on other terrorist fighters, be it Al-Shabaab or ISIS to denounce violence and surrender to authorities, saying Al-Shabaab especially is becoming a burden on Somalis people.
