At least 10 fighters of the Somali-based Al-Shabaab militant group were killing in a fight that erupted between the militants and Somali National Army near Bal’ad town in Middle Shabelle region of Somalia.
The fight erupted when the militants ambushed a convoy belonging to SNA that had just left Jowhar for Mogadishu. 10 militant fighters were killed and several others fled with gun wounds. Information Minister for Hirshabelle State in Somalia confirmed of the attack that also left six SNA soldiers killed.
Al-Shabaab who thrive on propaganda exaggerated the death toll on their affiliated websites making the casualties on SNA side more than ten. The clash between Al-Shabaab and SNA took place on Saturday 24/11/2018.
