The ICC judge Chile Osunji took Prosecutor Steynberg to asking querying his view on Witness 743.
According to judge Chile, Prosecutor Steynberg said this witness is quote a thoroughly unreliable and incredible witness end quote.
Judge Chile further asked Prosecutor Steynberg that Witness 743 is a witness the prosecutor called to testify.
“Beyond the merits of the application of Ms. Alagendra you will of course tell us why we should continue to listen to this witness if this is how you feel,” said Presiding Judge Chile Eboe-Osuji.
Steynberg responded that the witness had made allegations that go to the heart of the integrity of the prosecution’s case.
While the ICC judges have not given a comprehensive statement on these revelations by the OTP witnesses, it injures the reputation of the international court.
