Event: Food Aid has finally been airlifted by the World Food Programme (WFP) to the terror torn area OF BULO BURDE, SOMALIA. The Somali town has been one of the Al Shabaab strongholds posing a very high risk for the humanitarian organizations to access and give the much needed food relief.
World Food Programme has been able to airlift food aid into this town which is in central Somalia, the move meant to alleviate hunger to hundreds of thousands people deprived the militant Al Shabaab insurgents since 2014.
Al Shabaab blockade and insecurity have been a major hindrance for World Food Programme to transport food by road from it Beledweyne warehouse which is the capital city of Hiiran province.

Coming days Forecast
Somali Federal Government passed counter terrorism bill into law and this will give the government power to deal with the issue of radicalization among the youths. This will be a big stride towards preemption of terrorist cells and securing the nation.
Somali National Army is getting backup from Kenya Defence Forces as well as other UN peacekeeping under AMISOM to push the Al Shabaab militants out of major Somali towns and other insurgent’s strongholds. This in turn will see more Bulo Burde residents as well as other Somali residents from other parts of the country receive food and medicine a thing they have not experienced for more than a year.
