The United Stated has dispatched more warships to the Yemen waters to block suspected Iranian shipments sending weapons to Houthi rebels.
The aircraft carrier and a guided missile cruiser left for the Yemen waters amid intensified conflict in the war-torn country to intercept some seven Iranian ships believed to transport weapons to Houthi rebels.
Iran has not been hiding their support towards Houthi rebels who are fighting the government of President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi . For this reason, the United States Navy has strongly come out to block any possible means of the Houthis from receiving support from Iran.
Houthi’s in Yemen have been fighting to totally oust the Yemen government ever since they seized Sanaa in September last year prompting an intensified war against these rebels.
The intensified war led to Saudi-led airstrikes which were aimed at weakening the Houthis, a move which was vehemently condemned by Iran.
The United States is firmly working together with Saudi Arabia forces in order to stop the war in Yemen through the airstrikes.
Their presence in the Gulf of Aden and the Southern Arabian Sea is meant to beef up security forces against the Houthi rebels and ensure safety of the Yemen maritime zone.
