EVENT SUMMARY, MOGADISHU, Somalia
Thursday 9, June 2016, the US Africa Command on Wednesday issued a statement confirming the deaths of two senior Al-Shabaab militants killed recently in Somalia military operations.
According the statement, senior Al-Shabaab military commander Abdullahi Haji Da'ud was killed in a U.S. airstrike on May 27.
Da'ud killed by US drone strike that targeted him but US could not immediately confirm if he was killed.
On May 31, June 2016, the Garissa University attack planner Mohamed Dulyadayn alias Kuno Gamadhere was killed in an operation by US trained Somalia Commandos (Danab).
U.S. officials had said American forces provided air support to that operation.
The Al-Shabaab extremist rebels are linked to Al Qaeda terrorist group.
