Jubbaland forces supported Ethiopian ENDF and U.S. military forces launched a major offensive on Al-Shabaab militants outside sea port town of Kismayo on Monday.
Media reports from Somalia indicate that the joint allied forces raided Berhani, an Al-Shabaab-held village located about 30 kilometers southern of Kismayo town.
The coalition forces overrun the area, killing undisclosed number of militants and forcing others to flee and vacate their bases.
Jubbaland troops who were part of the operation torched several houses which they believed were used by Al Shabaab commanders as shelter.
