Recent U.S military reports indicate that its Commando forces killed over 30 Al-Qaeda fighters in raid conducted in southern Yemen on Sunday dawn.
The successful raid is the first military operation authorized by U.S President, Donald Trump.
The gun battle in Yakla district. Bayda province also saw Abdul-Raoof al-Dhahab, a senior Al-Qaeda regional commander killed along with other fighters.
The raid began at dawn when U.S drone precision strikes bombed the shelter of Abdul-Raoof al-Dhahab. Attack helicopters with Commandos followed and unloaded the paratroopers at his house who killed everyone inside.
Gunmen had tried to open fire at the U.S. Commandos promoting the helicopters to bopmb a number of homes .There were few case of civilians casualties as reported by various open sources.
A statement released my U.S military indicate that over 30 combatants were killed and several others netted and will be debriefed to provide insight into their future terror plots.
The statement also confirmed that three U.S Commandos were also wounded in the operation in which a military warplane experienced a hand landing.
