The U.S. army has selected the Brügger & Thomet semi-automatic carbine APC9 for its security soldiers.
According to U.S. government business website, the Army selected B&T small arms specialists with their APC9K semi-automatic carbine or submachine gun as the winner of the Sub Compact Weapon programme.
The small semi-automatic carbine is chambered in 9mm and variants of the weapon are in use with police units such as Special Weapons and Tactics, or SWAT teams. The weapon is reliable, accurate, compact and APC9 is the perfect submachine gun for all police and military tasks,” according to a B&T report.
According to the Army Contracting Command, B&T will receive an order for manufacture 350 Sub-Compact Weapons with an option for additional quantities of up to 1,000 SCWs, including slings, manuals, accessories, and spare parts.
