U.S. military has revealed that its airstrike may have killed a senior military commander in northern Syria.
The airstrikes on March 4, 2016 believed to have killed the main target, commander, Tarkhan Tayumurazovich Batirashvili, better known as Omar al Shishani (or the Chechen).

In a statement Wednesday 9th March 2016, Pentagon Press Secretary Peter Cook announced the airstrike, which took place in the Syrian city of Shaddadi may have killed one of the most wanted terror figure in Syria.
Shishani has previously held numerous top –ranking military position for the Islamic State, including “minister of war,” and “Shura Council member.”
He has also led an elite mobile combat unit vital on key warfronts formations aimed at delivering success to the Islamic State military operation. Many of the combatants in Shishani’s cell are from the Caucasus and other foreign countries.
