Two Boko Haram linked female suicide bombers on Sunday morning attacked a mosque in Bama town, killing two others and injuring eight persons.
In a statement yesterday, the spokesman of police in Borno State, Okon Edet, confirmed that at about 5.40a.m. of today (Sunday), two female suicide bombers infiltrated the Ajilari area in Bama town and launched a suicide bomb attack on residents observing morning (Asuba) prayers.
The two detonated the improvised explosive devices (IEDs) strapped on their bodies, killing themselves and two other male victims. Eight who sustained injuries from the explosion were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
The attack coming less than a month after another suicide attack displaced hundreds from Bama, Borno state which at the peak of Boko Haram insurgency in the North-east Nigeria.
