Turkish military jets pounded on PKK terrorist’s targets in Avasin-Basyan region, northern Iraq on Monday evening.
Turkish military report indicate that, four fighter jets carried out the aerial sorties on PKK targets between 6.50 p.m. and 6.57 p.m. local time (1550 and 1557GMT) in militant held Avasin-Basyan region.
The air raids struck killing dozens of PKK fighters and destroyed an unspecified number of targets, the military statement said.
PKK is a listed terrorist organization by the U.S. and the EU.
PKK terrorist group resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015 resulting to more than 600 security personnel, including troops, police officers and village guards, being martyred to date.
Consequently, Turkish military operations have left over 7,000 PKK terrorists killed or “neutralized” in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq.
