In the past month of June, Turkish forces have killed 270 PKK terrorists in nationwide counter-terrorism operations.
During the air and ground campaigns, at least 23 security personnel were martyred and 48 injured are currently undergoing treatment for injuries sustained during operations.
Turkish security forces arrested 111 terror suspects during the operations. Meanwhile, 118 PKK shelters were destroyed in the southeastern Hakkari, Sirnak, Mardin, Diyarbakir and Siirt provinces.
Assortment of weaponry including an anti-tank missile, machine guns, sniper rifles, shotguns and hand grenades were also seized by security forces.
More than 1,200 people, including security personnel and civilians, have lost their lives since the PKK — listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU — resumed its decades-long armed campaign in July 2015. More than 8,000 PKK militants have also been neutralized in Turkish counter-terror operations.
