
Monday 15th May 2012 23:30 GMT, a group of attackers tried to force their way into a popular hotel in Mombasa but were barred by security guards at the gate.
The attackers then started to shoot indiscriminately and hurled grenades at the Bella Vista hotel.
Bella Vista, a known hotel in Mombasa and a popular holiday destination for Kenyans and foreigners was the target.
One person (security guard) was killed and several revelers injured in a blast at the hotel in the Kenyan city of Mombasa.
Thursday 10th March 2016, terror suspect Thabit Jamaldin Yahya who bombed Bella Vista Hotel Mombasa in 2012 which caused the death of a security guard who fought him off, has today has been sentenced to death at Mombasa High Court.
The death sentence of Thabit Jamaldin Yahya is another win against war on terror.
