Taliban Commander among Five Terrorists Killed in Takhar, Afghanistan


The Afghan security forces killed five Taliban terrorists, including their commander for Darqad district during a military operation conducted in northeast Takhar province. In addition, six other Taliban insurgents received injuries.

According to a statement by the National Directorate of Security (NDS), the clearing operation kicked off in the Basirkhel locality on Saturday night and is expected to continue in the coming days.

The five Taliban terrorists including their commander Mullah Mirwali, were killed and six others wounded during overnight operation.

Deputy Police Chief, Col. Nizamuddin Ghori said that clearing operation was still ongoing in Qamgozar area while already most parts of it have been recaptured from the combatants.

The Taliban combatants have not commented on the issue yet.
