Barely a week since the Federal Government put their weight behind Saudi Arabia in the Iran-Saudi row, a court in Hargeisa-Somaliland on Wednesday 13th January sentenced two people for spreading Shia doctrines.
Somalia is a Sunni-Muslim dominated nation and with growing rift between the two major Muslim doctrines the tension is growing with Sunni nations shunning Shiite doctrines.
The two, both Pakistan nationals were sentenced to one year each in prison and a 3 million shillings fine after which they will be deported from Somaliland.
